Project Description

The largest such bridge in the world, when it opened in 1936. The most unusual aspect of coating testing is the using of a low voltage, wet sponge Holiday Tester, to verify coating integrity. Rivets, edges, bolted connections are common areas where coating failures may occur.

Holiday testing has been used to help improve Contractor productivity rates, as well as less re-work required during the two year anniversary Warranty Inspection. In addition, ‘X’ cut and hydraulic pull off adhesion testing is employed on the completed areas, to provide additional data for the Owner.
