In 2014 NACE International, the premier authority for corrosion control solutions profiled Dave Nolan and QCS on their website and in their trade magazine Coatings Pro. They produced a video featuring Dave detailing the education he received with NACE that prepared him for a career in Coatings Inspection and prompted him to start QCS. The organization offers technical training and certification programs worldwide as well as publishing several corrosion related trade magazines. Since then, Dave has authored several articles for NACE’s Coatings Pro and Material’s Performance publications.
2018 was an exciting year for QCS, after fourteen years of hard work and dedication to his company, the U.S. Small Business Administration named Dave Nolan as Ohio’s 2018 Small Business Person of the Year. The criteria used for this prestigious award are precisely why QCS and Dave Nolan have such a successful history with government agencies and throughout the industry. The company was founded on the principles of honesty, integrity and providing excellent services. The SBA award presented in April 2018 in Washington D.C. affirmed that Dave Nolan’s commitment to growing his company and improving his community were appreciated and merited recognition. When Dave returned home from Washington he was profiled by KeyBank in Cleveland for his recent achievement in a story titled, “From high school to painter to Ohio Small Business Person of the Year, one man’s journey to the top!”
In 2019, the Ohio Department of Transportation chose Quality Control Services as DBE Consultant of the Year 2019 at its annual Civil Rights Transportation Symposium. Candidates are nominated by individual ODOT districts where consultant services are provided. Dave was proud to accept the award on behalf of everyone at QCS.
